Fine Dining and Wining Club:
London is a truly global city. HIBS London is fully committed and encourages our Tourism and Hospitality students to explore London's diverse multi-cultural communities and their food. Gastronomic experience can also be understood as an ‘art of living’, the possession of skills and knowledge relating to food and drink and to their choice, which enhances the pleasure and enjoyment of eating and drinking. We appreciate such pleasures are central to gastronomic tourism which is developing as a subset of cultural tourism where the experience of participating in a different culture is central. The hospitality industry has a natural role in the provision of these experiences but it also has the opportunity to enhance the enjoyment of such experiences through the provision of relevant information. It is therefore appropriate that hospitality education and training include a gastronomy component in order to give students a greater understanding of the history and culture of food and drink. In order to experience firsthand we have launched a Fine Dining and Wining Club in January 2011. All of our Post Graduate Diploma students will be members of this club and therefore explore wide range of handpicked eateries and indulge their taste buds.
Educational and Cultural European Tours:
Here at HIBS London we believe that offering our students the chance to visit Europe is one of the best and fun ways to bring learning to life. We tailor made the itineraries to include educational and cultural features. In the past our 5 days itineraries included visits to cultural and historical sites, vineyards, wineries, cheese and chocolate making to beer breweries. Over the years we have formed an extensive partnership with flagship hotels and restaurants across the Europe so that our students are given a rare access to behind the scene tour. We also organise to dine our students in some of them.
